nashua river rail trail

Sunday morning, DH brought us to Nashua River Rail Trail to cycle again. The first time we were there, which was two weeks ago, we only cycled briefly around the Groton section of the trail because we didn’t plan it well enough to avoid Niklas’ “cranky time”. This time we went in the morning, which is Niklas’ “more well-behaved time”, and were more prepared for the trip. We had…

Toys to entertain the little one – checked.
Food to bribe him – checked.
Drinks for everyone – checked.
Nurse Niklas before the ride – checked.

In addition, Niklas no longer need to share the trailer with his sister (meaning more space for himself) since we just got a tandem bike for Nikita. :) So, he didn’t really fuss much the entire trip and even took a short nap along the way.

Because he was doing so well, we just kept cycling and cycling until I saw an ice-cream shop on the Main St of Pepperell and decided that I really needed a break. :P By then, Niklas also woke up. Just in time to have his first taste of strawberry ice-cream. Haha…
After our ice-cream treat, I raised my white flag at DH. I couldn’t cycle any further already. So, we cycled back to where we started.

Even though I was totally exhausted by the time we reached home, I was surprised by how enjoyable and relaxing I felt after cycling. Can you believe we actually went slightly more than 3 miles (from Dunstable to Pepperell) , including the return trip?! Unbelievable, right? Me? The one who (according to my DH
-_-) has “jelly legs” cycled 3 miles!! The longest stretch I ever cycle! I’m so proud of myself, even though both my legs ached like crazy yesterday and I feel more motivate to continue cycling now. :)
